Arjun bowing down in front of Shree Krishna before the war starts. Discussion of Logical Perspective of Mahabharata

Mahabharata, an epic whose authenticity could never be substantiated to an extent for it to get global acceptance as a significant piece of history rather than a myth but it holds enough water that one just can’t deem it as vague. I will not talk about conventional views and well known facts that corroborate the existence of the epic but would rather like to share my insights from a logical perspective.

We see humans progressing by leaps and bounds in artificial intelligence; robots, cars, drones and so much more all imparted with self-intelligence to an extent they need to perceive. Consider them as living species for once, with robots equivalent to humans and other things tantamounting animals, for robots are supreme and have ability to build and take control over others. The day is no far when we will send them to our neighbouring planets in order to explore. Today’s humans are curio-sapiens, that’s my word for our super curious generation. They will be much interested in exploring our universe, but will the smart robots accept our intervention forever? Doesn’t an intelligent person like to pave his own path?

Coming back to our supposition, I believe that similar events might would have occurred in past. Gods must would have been an extra-terrestrial race that have established us but with the rise in immoral acts (that we see as beginning of Kaliyuga), they found no point in intervening our lives and would have left us to ourselves thus retracting to their own peaceful world.

But how does it connect to Mahabharata? Who said gods have their own world? Shree Krishna has always mentioned Mahabharata as a war between Dharma & Adharma rather than Kurus & Pandvas, for it was an attempt to curb increasing immorality and teach world a lesson. But the end was temporal, hence 36 years after Mahabharata following demise of Shree Krishna, Kaliyuga begin.

In answer to our second question in above paragraph, we will have to dig a bit into science, More specifically to Einstein's theory of relativity. Time is the 4th dimension, it changes on cosmic scales. Gravity plays a major role here. Simpler example is, time passes fast on high altitude mountains than it does for us. Have a trip to heights and you will see rapid growth in nails and hairs. The contrast between divine years and human years, a conversion that says 1 divine year = 360 human years, 1 divine day = 1 human year is nothing but practical example of theory of relativity on the place our gods ought to come from.

Time calculations and their units in Hindi/Sanskrit as per Hindu System

Today we have pretty good classifiers available for segregation, thanks to deep learning and artificial intelligence. Much of human work gets reduced, once we train models using these technologies. Just for once assume concept of heaven and hell is true, there are scientific evidence available for rebirth, considerable experimentation done to establish the fact that souls exist. If we go with Hindu scriptures, one who does good goes to heaven and one who does bad goes to hell. But then why did Shakuni and Duryodhana went to heaven? Shree Narad Muni says that they have had their time in hell for the fact that they were unaware of dharma, but their rigidity and determinacy to their goal which though was a negative one due to lack of knowledge has brought them to heaven. This goes with our simplest mathematic equations - * - = + and who knows if our souls are just a bunch of information to divine world whose data classification yields us to either heaven or hell. Too much hypothesis here, i guess. Until next time....
